Project information
Understand the day-to-day challenges faced by people with autism in an urban environment.
The autism spectrum covers a complex reality impacting sensory perception, communication and social interactions. On a daily basis, people with autism evolve in an often hostile world, saturated with stimuli and social interactions that can overwhelm them.
In urban environments, the challenges multiply. Incessant noise, dense crowds, blinding lights and constant solicitations are a source of intense anxiety and fatigue. Navigating public transport, waiting in queues and adapting to changing environments and schedules can be particularly taxing.
Our project aims to combine science and visual art to explore these challenges and propose concrete solutions.
A scientific book, rich in in-depth analysis, will offer a better understanding of the specific needs of people with autism. Illustrations and photographs, designed with their sensory sensitivities in mind, will help to make the book accessible and attractive.
The main challenge is to create a tool that is both educational and practical. The book will be aimed at autism professionals, families and autistic people themselves
Understanding the brief, gathering scientific analysis and building this book with the cognitive and sensory particularities of people with autism in mind has been a stimulating challenge.
